What happened to Warren? It seemed like she was set to be a palatable compromise candidate between the progressive and centrist wings but has fallen off significantly from what I understand?

Tlaib won her primary by 1% in a crowded field, she may well lose the 2020 primary. Hillary won her district by double digits in the primary, and by 60 points in the general. The Squad is kind of terrible at politics.

1/One of the most annoying things about news cycles is that they usually only cover situations while a crisis is happening, meaning you don't know how things resolve. One month it's "INDIA EXPLODES IN PROTEST, AUSTRALIA IS ON FIRE", and next month it's like...ok so what happened?

When H1N1 broke out in Mexico, China initially responded in a very generous way. They sent two 747s packed with materials to help contain the outbreak. Immediately thereafter, they started rounding up every Mexican in China and refusing to take our calls at the Foreign Ministry.

I had at least three Chinese students who chose Kobe as their English name. His legacy is huge there and I’m seeing even more remembrance of him on WeChat than I have on fb and Instagram

Economist twitter: has their been meaningful research that has fundamentally undercut the argument made in the China Shock paper? I've seen the pushback by Feenstra, Ma, Xu on role of housing prices, but unsure of traction/credence there.

I came out when I was 17. Terrified, I ran away from home, crashed on friends’ couches and occasionally slept in my car to stay out of the way. Today I’m traveling the country on behalf my husband, just two weeks shy of the Iowa Caucuses as he seeks the American presidency.
