Grassley this morning told reporters he may call on Pruitt to resign as EPA administrator if agency scales back on admin's commitments on the renewable fuels standard. "They better, or I'm going to be calling on Pruitt to resign because I'm done playing around on this."

Agree but would add that Pruitt should not have been in this position to begin with (along with every other crook in this administration).

It's nice to know that none of the blaring ethical or legal scandals that plague Scott Pruitt are what bother Chuck. No, it's threatening ethanol/corn subsidies.

He's been draining the treasury for travel, "security" and furniture -- but THIS is what's going to get him fired??? Yeah, this sums up EXACTLY why people hate Republicans.

Iowa has a lot of wind and a lot of wind jobs. Grassley is (for once) serving his constituents. Of course, all reps should serve their constituents by ensuring we have breathable air and a habitable planet, but it's a start.

And corn-derived ethanol, which Grassley is a big defender of. (Although it's a heavily subsidized endeavor, which would seem to cut right across GOP espoused free market ideology, but 🤷🏼‍♂️).

Ah no, subsidies are only bad if they go to industries that he doesn't have a stake in.

Mr. Ethanol. He doesn’t really care about the EPA’s mission — he just needs ethanol to stay in demand.

So Grassley's red line is ethanol? Not the treason, or the bribery, or the obstruction of justice? Not even the attack on McCain? This needs to be Grassley's last term. And if he colluded with McConnell & Ryan on Russia, he should go to jail. He's joined the #TrumpCrimeFamily

It's this line of reasoning that explains how and why Trump continues to get a pass for his lies, greed and corruption. As long as he keeps pulling the legislative lever, they'll keep looking the other way.
