“I absolutely was an advocate,” Haspel says when asked by Feinstein about destroying the tapes of interrogation tactics in 2005. Haspel says she was concerned the tapes could harm officers in field.

exactly, how could she know it would hurt officers in the field if she did not view the tapes? And the republicans using their time to kiss her ass makes me want to throw up. Why do we even have to listen to them?

She claims she understood (as in, read a report of the contents or was briefed) that the tapes showed officers' faces and implied she feared they would be leaked. Which still seems like a very bad reason to destroy evidence.

Could have blacked out the officers faces.

Well that's one way of looking at it however the fact remains they destroyed the tapes because they KNEW what they had done was wrong.

@SenFeinstein wouldn't the actions of CIA officers have posed a risk to officers in the field? It's not that there was evidence of wrongdoing that created the risk--it was the misconduct of CIA officers under Haspel's command that is problematic

What is immoral about water boarding? Is what Obama did to Libya then also immoral? He has their President murdered.

Her ACTIONS endangered US lives. She created new enemies She made it OK for other countries to do same She ensured enemies would seek revenge In the process Haspel was stripped of her humanity. She Should NOT be in government, much less the CIA

🙄 Meaning use more effective (and moral) methods. Torture vics say anything to make it stop... whether accurate or not. Besides, you can't win a war of good against evil by being evil.
