Thom Tillis, who offered a bill to protect special counsel but has stayed away from the push of late, says in a statement with Coons that they urge Trump “to allow the Special Counsel to complete his work without impediment, which is in the best interest of the American people..”

Talk is cheap. They have the power to make sure the special counsel is protected and they refuse to actually use that power.

And what is this "I don't see a need for such legislation at this time"? When the time arrives it will be too late. Such complicit morons.

Agreed. And the argument is so illogical. 1) He’s ALREADY TRIED TO FIRE MUELLER once , and would have if The W.H lawyer didn’t threaten to quit. Thats clear evidence of a need. 2) Only bad things come from not having it and needing it. Not from having it and not needing it

Maybe they’re setting a trap. If he takes the bait and fires Mueller, they impeach.

Republicans are not going to impeach, no matter how much evidence Mueller has. They've proven to cover for him time and time again. It is imparitive for the Dems to take back the House and Senate.

It is better to market it to Trump and how it will benefit him. If you fire Mueller, you will be impeached and both sides of the aisle will support it.

I agree with marketing to trump but I doubt that both sides of the aisle would support impeachment. Believe me, if it comes to that the Right will spin and twist themselves into convulsions to avoid it.

It's more than a shame and a sham that GOP members of congress are afraid of Trump. You'd think they'd have more empathy with Stormy Daniels' claim of being threatened/bullied.
