Sanders won't say if Mueller subpoena to Trump Organization for business records crosses a red line as Trump asserted last year: "There was no collusion between the campaign and Russia," she says, punts questions on the subpoena to the Trump Organization

Why do you ask this question @mkraju? It assumes facts not in evidence. Trump does not get to have a red line.

The *question* is: Why does trump care if they subpoena his business records? What is he afraid of them finding? Why is it that no reporter has the awareness to ask trump or sanders this question?

They do a good job "reporting" they're just horrible at asking questions. They're not trained to do it. News orgs ought to send a team of lawyers to ask questions at the press briefing and then let the reporters write about what they hear.

Great point. Dr. Gupta did a great job with follow up questions in real time during the medical presser. The daily pressers would be more informative if lawyers asked the questions on the legal issues.

You're exactly right, Dr Gupta was about the best questioner I've seen at any of those briefings. Boggles my mind when Sanders gives a deflective answer and the next reporter up doesn't bypass their original question and press her for a better answer on the first one.

Or when they ask these multi-part questions that ramble on and make it easy for her to avoid any meaningful answer on any part of the whole mangled inquiry.

Why a subpoena? One possibility is that Mueller already knows what they have & is waiting to see if they’ll turn it over. Subpoenas have teeth. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/15/us/politics/trump-organization-subpoena-mueller-russia.html …
