Grassley stops short of his threat from last year not to hold confirmation hearings on a new attorney general, but he says ominously: “I would think it wouldn't be wise to fire Sessions."

Maybe the GOP should have started pushing back two years ago instead of waiting for this runaway train to come off the tracks.

History will ask "How was D Trump allowed to do so much damage to the Republic"? The answer will be: Republican lawmakers stood by and did nothing to save the Republic.

I think it is imperative that we revisit the Reality Star to President experiment. I meant really. We allowed a bunch of gun toting, racial profiling, womanizers elect a defective candidate. Now we really need change, desperately.

More evidence for Mueller. The simple fact is that Donald Trump will keep committing crimes—Obstruction, Witness Tampering, and (in both past and the near future) Perjury—until someone finally holds him accountable. The GOP has stood aside and let this serial lawbreaker go wild. https://twitter.com/VanityFair/status/973991549599133706 …

As long as Mueller was fired by his acting AG, I don’t think he’d even care.

The acting AG can't as long as Rosenstein is there. He was the acting AG due to Sessions recusing himself.

I really hope that’s how it works, but are you sure? If the new acting AG had no reason to recuse himself, wouldn’t he be in charge of the Russian probe? The only reason Rosenstein is in charge of it is because Sessions recused himself.

I'm sure that's how it's suppose to work. The law states only the AG, or acting AG due to AG recusing, can appoint one. Later in the law it states only the AG can fire. That would imply it has to be the same person since the acting AG was the person who hired.

The tricky part is it states ONLY the AG can fire. Their thinking is if they got a non-recused AG, he could fire him.

You're welcome. There also has to be a reason. This isn't not an at will firing like most positions. While I'm sure they could make one up, it would have to be proven or else it would end up being obstruction.
