Conaway said the concern GOP had was with the CIA’s “analytical tradecraft” and agency did not use the right standards to conclude that Putin was trying to help Trump. He said it’s “irrelevant” that Mueller’s indictment of Russians contends that they were trying to help Trump

GOP on HPSCI now appears to be drawing distinction between Russians trying to hurt Clinton to sow discord in the US elections vs. explicitly trying to help Trump in 2016

Conaway says no question Russians sought to hurt Clinton, but says it's open to interpretation on whether that means help Trump. His real issue, he says, is with how the CIA used analytical standards to base its conclusion that Putin wanted Trump to win.http://snpy.tv/2IpjFVA

The flaw with that argument is that Russians also targeted Cruz and Rubio supporters. They weren’t trying to undermine Rubio and Cruz to hurt Clinton—they did that to help Trump.

So now we’re playing the semantics game when it comes to National Security

Hey I remember when Bill Clinton debated the definition of the word "is" They're politicians that's what they do.

BJs are a lil different than election meddling and trying to clear the President of any criminal misdoings prematurely while trying to implicate his opponent.

Isn't the whole point of the whole "glass half full/empty"-analogy that both situations are identical and they serve to reveal something about *you*, not about the glass of water?

"You can pitch that either way" shows how unconcerned Republicans like
@ConawayTX11 are with the TRUTH. All they care about is how things can be "pitched."https://twitter.com/mkraju/status/973676485000269824 …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Or further; to hurt a political candidate, is to hurt the democratic process. Ergo he is in agreement that a foreign state (Russia) made moves against US democracy. With zero consequence.

The Mike Conaway I once knew would have been far more interested in protecting his country than playing word games to protect an allegedly treasonous President, of whatever stripe. GOP has lost its soul.

Conaway is a traitor. Ask him why he functioned like a personal attorney during the House Intelligence Committee hearing for Erik Prince.
