In Obama era, Republicans in the House demanded dollar-for-dollar cuts for any debt ceiling hike - something that Senate Dems rejected. GOP not making same demands these days - and offsets in today’s budget deal won’t meet dollar-for-dollar standard

As long as lawmakers ignore the White House things will get done. What a debacle of a presidency.

Don't worry - they'll be back with that demand next time Democrats are in power. Democrats need to grow a backbone and demand a permanent elimination of the debt limit so that cudgel is never available to Republicans.

The Republicans were no longer the party of fiscal conservatives the day their tax bill was signed into law. I hope all the people who got an extra $1.50/week in their checks think it’s worth it. Each of us owes a share, and it’s well over $500K/per household.
