NEWS: FBI Agent Peter Strzok, attacked by Trump for “treason” over his texts, also did something that roiled the Clinton campaign: He wrote the first draft of the Comey letter reopening Clinton probe. Story via @LauraAJarrett @jeremyherb and mehttp://www.cnn.com/2018/01/31/politics/strzok-fbi-comey-clinton-letter/index.html …

Strzok and Page were also grappling with the fallout of making the letter public. A text message on Nov. 6 shows that neither thought a public letter was a good idea - that appeared to be a reference to the Comey letter closing the investigation.

The only reason Strzok's name is on one letter is because Comey forced him to. The only reason Comey forced him to is because NY FBI field agents threatened to expose Comey McCabe Strzok for Obstruction of Justice/sitting on evidence.

So, FBI New York - knowing Trump no doubt - forced Comey to write the lettter to reopen, even though Comey & McCabe had already established there was nothing new in it. And Comey, right so, then let Strzok cosign, because he was one of those that pressed it ;)

Comey/McCabe hadn't established there was no new info on it before they wrote letter or re-opened investigations.

Negative. IMO they new with the first glance, there was nothing new. But gave way to pressure, internally & externally, even though their own rules suggested to wait with such actions until after the elections. Trump conned them, with help of russia

https://twitter.com/MarshallCohen/status/958818524104970242 … As I said, Comey was pressured, and the FBI rules were broken by going public. That is why imo Strzok protested against going public.

Strzok did, however, harbor reservations about Comey making a public announcement just days before the election and sent a text message to that effect, two sources said. https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/31/politics/strzok-fbi-comey-clinton-letter/index.html …
