I would be ready for it if that person had proven herself in other civil servant jobs first. If @Oprah turned out to be a fantastic Senator and then ran for president, I would probably vote for her.

A totally safe, political answer from Senator Warren. Please, let’s stop this Oprah waste of time. There are far more pressing concerns, such as a criminal Fake President and his destructive cabinet.

I don't care if she's a celebrity billionaire. The issue is she has ZERO political/governing experience. She has no qualifications to be POTUS beyond money and name recognition.
-
Actually per the constitution she has all the qualifications. American born over 40. She may not have legislative experience but she meets the Constitutional muster.
-
"Actually."
You know what I mean. Merely being over 40 and born in the USA doesn't mean you have what it takes to be even a mediocre POTUS. If those are your only standards for deeming someone qualified then that's a problem. -
We had the most qualified person lose to the least qualified person in 2016. Americans are not interested in qualifications. Us hardcore political junkies are but the avg person isn't. It's the would you drink a beer with them bs.
-
What happened and what should happen are two very different things. If we give America bad choices, they have bad choices to choose from. Therefore, we shouldn't cram the field with unqualified candidates.
-
DT was unqualified and we did not vet him. We need to have a more stringent vetting process. Background checks, physical and mental tests with results published. The media needs to stop with the horse race bs.
-
Agreed. Part of that vetting needs to be serious questions about qualifications and experience to lead a country. I like to hope we learned our lesson, but I'm not super optimistic...

What was she supposed to say? Do any of us know? We’ll do whatever it takes to put Trump in the rear view, but what that would take deserves thought & debate. Warren Oprah 2020? Hmm

I hope Oprah can rally behind some phenomenal women and use her celebrity as a force to help other women who come from nothing flourish. But it’s hard for rich people to put others first, no matter how much good they’ve done.
