"We could hear crumbling, crashing and screaming"
Several people killed, 77 people hurt, after Amtrak train 501, on its inaugural run from Seattle to Portland, derails from bridge onto Interstate 5 near Olympia, Washington. @seattletimes updates: http://bit.ly/2B9WCy9 #Amtrak
All my thought's are with the people involved; devastated!
The President's budget request on trains was described thusly: "a nearly 13 percent reduction in transportation spending over fiscal 2017 ... and a $630 million reduction in subsidies for long-distance Amtrak routes." http://washingtonpost.com/local/traffica …
He doesn’t get that math thing...dollars out and dollars in.
And a few billion here, a few billion there, rounding errors—especially on personal financial statements.
Trump is ready to bulldoze the dead bodies, as long as his oligarchs can make a buck off it.
Sad but true.
Tragic metaphor for his entire presidency.
He's such a Maggots Maggot He just has No Empathy None
Also, that accident was the 1st run of a 180 million dollar rail improvement project in that area. Not f'ing "crumbling." Maybe we could wait to see what the @NTSB finds?
So a new rail project under Trump derailed and killed people? All this winning.
Lets blame Trump for shit from 2015! That's sure to resonate...
I didn't blame trump. I blame the GOP for blocking Obama's infrastructure bill. And Trump for giving rich people a tax cut to take away from the middleman. So, Trumpster get it right.
Why isn't anyone in the media pointing out that these tracks are owned by SPRR and are not public property? If anything, this is another clue that privatization of infrastructure is a bad idea.
Southern Pacific Railroad? Thought did not exist independently any more...owned by Union Pacific
Right! Showing my age. It's Union Pacific and BNSF now in the West. Thanks!
No sweat...in the South, and I still say Seaboard, Central of Georgia and Southern to describe routes.
I should know better. I've been known to take pictures like this at the Tehachapi Loop!pic.twitter.com/ft1qxBJ5CI
