I clearly missed something, they just moved to go to the floor? Regardless of what Flake said? He voted against what he just said to do?!?!

I think he’s saying he’ll hold out on a floor vote until FBI investigation. I think this is mostly for theatrics tho.

I am going to try to have faith that he appeared sincere. Maybe I am a fool for thinking this way, but Flake seemed sincere. Time will tell.

This doesn't mean anything if Grassley doesn't actually agree to or go through with it. Flake voted Yes and that's all that matters here.

Didn't Grassley say yesterday that Feinstein could also call for Fbi investigation? (I don't understand why a lot of others are unable to).

Anyone on the committee can call for one. Harris and Coons did iirc (don't quote me on that) as well as Doug Jones. I'm not sure of the procedure to actually authorize it though.

Formally, a motion wasn't filed so this is just Jeff Flake saying "I think [the investigation] should happen."https://twitter.com/pdmcleod/status/1045735053328879616?s=09 …

Looks like there will be no formal motion, Flake is just declaring his stance. “This country is being ripped apart here, and we’ve got to ensure we do due diligence,” he says. Says he’ll ask the White House to open the FBI investigation.
