Christine Blasey Ford's attorneys have asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to allow for two trauma experts and the person who administered her polygraph to testify. Republican senators say that's not going to happen.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said this when asked about trauma experts and the polygraph administrator testifying: "We're not turning this into a trial. If they wanted all this, they should have told us in July about this. So I got zero patience with their demands."

Has *any* reporter asked GOP (Grassley, McConnell, Hatch, Cornyn) what Senate rule they are relying on to hire outside counsel to perform individual Senators' jobs? Any legal rule at all? Because it looks like ultra vires. Please do your due diligence, media.
-
I've still seen no law/Senate rule allowing this. Outside legal "consultants" may be hired by the Committee but they must follow rules: including getting consent of the minority party, which has not been done here.

Ford's experts should sit behind her throughout. She can introduce them as who they are, and state GOP forbade them from speaking even as they hire sex assault attorney to interrogate it.

CORNYN IS THOROUGHLY CORRUPT, ASK ANY TEXAN. He can barely put down his whiskey long enough to go to work.

Expression that defines his idea that his role in Congress is to have power over everything in his realm. This is showing the people who these Senators really are. Power hungry men.

This is how they do it in Russia. Our GOP senators would know, since they were taking field trips to Moscow. They've also taken tons of Russian money, so they don't want the Russia probe going anywhere either. That's why no oversight, no money for cybersecurity, or elections.

Then there is no investigation and Kavanaugh will forever be a stain on the Court. My entire legal career will likely include Gorsuch, whose seat belongs to Garland and Kavanaugh who was pushed through by powerful shadow groups despite perjury and sexual assault allegations.

Please help me understand why the republicans are so set against getting to the truth? What are they hiding?

@JohnCornyn hides behind a woman to question Dr. Ford as the 11 old white men on the Senate Judiciary are cowards. They made it clear to America that they do not believe in inclusion or diversity. -
Is she also going to question Kavanaugh?
-
The 11 cowardly old white men hired a female attorney to question Dr. Ford. They're afraid of their own optics. They are only fooling themselves

How are they discharging their constitutional duty by hiring someone else to ask the questions? They only care about their "constitutional duty" when they can just it as an excuse to rig the hearing against Dr Blasey Ford. They're farming out the most basic aspect of this duty
