Actually, it is the fault of the person who was responsible for the federal government’s response to the hurricane.

Yes
@SpeakerRyan the storm was nobody's fault. But the deaths came bc fed leadership was absent. People didn't have electricity, couldn't get life-saving healthcare, didn't have water.@realdonaldtrump threw paper towels, graded himself A+, and walked away from an ongoing crisis. -
And yes, local leadership was needed too, but given the scale and state of crisis, they could not act alone, which is precisely why we have FEMA and federal support when natural disasters strike.

Plus took money from the Coast Guard which will be working overtime during Hurricane Florence. Dirty underhanded GOP, next they will steal from SS and Medicare.

It's no one's fault that over a million water bottles are sitting on an airport runway a year later? No one's fault that cronies with no experience were hired to rebuild the electrical grid? No one's fault that people suffered needlessly while Trump patted himself on the back?
-
It is the entire GOP ‘s fault . Every single one of them. They pretend to care yet vote and show every time that they don’t.

Negligent genocide. Just because you weren't the hurricane doesn't mean you couldn't do anything. You all sat and ignored the cries for help. On purpose.

He golfed! Golfed and watched tv when he could've been leading and improving the rescue.

Don't forget not only was the help inadequate it didn't start until a week after Maria ended. Plus, a week prior to Maria, Hurricane Irma had hit the island and no FEMA help came at all for that hurricane. Puerto Rico was already in dire straits when Maria started.

Empty hospital ship and water left undistributed says it all. Pathetic

As recent as this week, General Honore said publicly that the response was significantly less than Katrina as far as helicopters and personnel.
@SpeakerRyan How dare you! Shame! -
I think we’ve learned he has no shame, also no spine.

Good Riddance to Ryan.

So
@SpeakerRyan conflates blaming someone for the storm (no one is doing that) with holding Trump responsible for his response to the tragedy in PR. Trying to CYA with disingenuous BS. No integrity. No honesty. No patriotism. Typical for Ryan, but even more so -#ShameOnYou -
And no offering real support (federal $$) to help then or now. Ryan's statements never cost even a penny

"Isolated island"??? First, by definition, any island is "isolated" insofar it is not attached to other land. Second, this isn't f*ing Gilligan's island, there are runways and cruise ports. Its a one day trip by sea and a 2 hour trip by air.
-
We have access to military air transports and navy supply ships. There was no excuse on getting supplies to the people of PR.
