Bob Corker on CBO saying the deficit is approaching $1 trillion: “I think both sides are terrible on the issue ... I know the administration is not focused on fiscal issues and said so during the campaign. It has followed through on not caring about fiscal issues.“

They 'care' about fiscal issues, just not in the right way. They're wrecking the budget purposefully, to constrain government in the long term, and to grab all they can, while they can. It's a 'smash and grab' heist, in broad daylight, with a barely disguised strategic motive.

Precisely. They’ve got fingers crossed that the bomb doesn’t blow while they still have it. Trump doesn’t care either way.

Only one "side" voted to increase the deficit during a strong economy. To make this simple....it wasn't Democrats.

No, both sides are not terrible on the issue, @SenBobCorker . This is all your party. We had a surplus under Clinton. Obama cut the deficit by 2/3. Republicans suck at economics because they don't think rich people should pay taxes. This isn't magic. It's math.

Someone should tell Bob Corker that Democrats don't control any chamber of congress and haven't done so since January 2015 And they haven't controlled the House since January 2011 Use diagrams as he doesn't seem to be a bright person

“Both sides”? Clinton and Obama both substantially reduced the deficit - Clinton even managed a surplus. Whereas Republicans push through massive tax cuts that explode the deficit. Reagan did it, Bush did it, Trump did it. It is not “both sides”.

The last Republican administration to have a balanced budget was Eisenhower.

So untrue @BobCorker. You can't 'both sides' this. No one ever died from deficits, but they have from underwhelming hurricane response or lack of affordable health care. Your side, however, creates deficits only to enrich the .1% while the middle class continues to get squeezed

Damn, is Corker full of crap. They drive up debt, then talk about decreasing SS in 1 way or another. And seniors vote for Rep’s due to fear of scary stuff perpetuated by Fox. Go figure.

“Both sides” didn’t vote for the #TrumpTaxScam bill that exploded the deficit. But @SenBobCorker did—after they threw in the #CorkerKickback.
