Wild start to Kavanaugh hearing - Dems interrupting Grassley’s opening statement, objecting to 42,000 pages turned over to the committee last night. Grassley tries to proceed, protestors start screaming. Dems try to adjourn. It is exceedingly rare for sens to interrupt a chairman

Odd that Grassley shut up and started sort-of listening when Blumenthal spoke. What was different about Blument..:.oh, yeah, he’s a man.

It's extremely rare to have a un-indicted co-conspirator nominating a Supreme Court Justice. So, there's that.

@SenatorCollins You would think that Brett Kavanaugh would want to be a legitimate judge and would be appalled at the secrecy of his paper work and the paper dump. You would think he should say that no further proceedings until all his papers are released.

Don’t let this get buried. This is “the first time that a sitting president has asserted executive privilege under the Public Records Act in order to prevent documents from going to Congress during a Supreme Court confirmation process.” #Kavanaugh https://nyti.ms/2Caj0s4?smid=nytcore-ios-share …

#Grassley Keeps talking about the unprecedented number of documents that are available to the judiciary committee. What he’s not saying is that those documents are a smidgen of all of the documents that exist & that are being “hidden” per executive privilege.
