Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh leaves Manchin’s office after roughly 90 minutes. Manchin is the first Dem to meet with Kavanaugh, they had been scheduled to meet for 30 minutes.

Of course Manchin. Hello @SenSchumer get Manchin to take a seat. If any Dem votes for Kavanaugh, you are going to have to contend with a lot of angry voters.

@SenSchumer should spect to lose leadership if he can’t stifle Kavanaugh.

#WhereisGarlandmeeting? No president under criminal investigation for conspiring with a foreign enemy to win election and then lying about it to cover it up should be allowed to nominate a Supreme Court Justice and have confirmed by Senate. Period.

Look at how long it took to replace Scalia and Kennedy isn’t gone yet but they are on the live for this pick. No president who’s campaign is under investigation should even assume office let alone get a SCOTUS pick.

I get that sentiment but that means a Republican who will do all of the same things Manchin would do, plus a few much more reprehensible things.

The issue here is not voting for republican nominee. I have no problem with that. The real issue though is the nominee he is voting for. I think Kavanaugh is way too extreme to the right and doesn’t deserve to sit on the bench.

Where does he say they have absolute power? And you’re mistaken about the latter point. He ha said he believes they *shouldn’t* be able to be prosecuted *while in office.* He said Congress should pass a law saying so (while Obama was president). They didn’t.

A GOP in Dem clothing. Get out and vote and anyone who DOESN'T isn't your friend. It means they don't give damn about ANYTHING and including you. Laws don't just happen. People don't just walk into power. WE ELECT THEM that is why its called a DEMOCRACY. GOP stick together

Manchin is more Republican than Democratic. He votes Republican and they have been able to count on him throughout the Trump era. Manchin seems to forget he was sent to DC by the Democrats. Shame on you Manchin.

Manchin represents the bright red state of West Virginia. Could any Democrat by a DINO get elected there? I really don't think so.

True, I think. But I don't understand why, when voting Republican is voting against your own interests. Health care, environmental protection, education...

Hard to imagine, but you are right: In the bright red state of WVa, far from any American border, anything which infers "open borders" (whether or not it actually has anything to do with open borders) is feared. They fear open borders more than lack of education, health care, etc
