GOP skeptical about making translator at Putin-Trump meeting testify to disclose what happened. Cruz: "That would be a terrible precedent to be pulling translators for meetings presidents have." Thune says it's "highly unlikely" to happen and "not sure what this accomplishes"

@tedcruz The terrible precedent is to have a President, ANY President, speak with an enemy of our Country alone! @SenJohnThune Why must you be reminded that We the People are demanding and deserve the right to know!

@SenJohnThune Not sure what it accomplishes? What? What? And you're a Senator of the United States? You better rethink your position, sir. It is critical we know what was promised behind closed doors on our behalf, considering the news now coming out. Rethink sir.

HOW is this even a question? WHAT'S HE HIDING? WHY does he have a different set of rules? When have there ever been meetings w/ heads of state & no witnesses, no record? The ppl have the right to know. He was supposed to be representing our country!

@GOP @SenTedCruz Are you HIGH, what the hell is wrong with you people. Trump met privately with Putin with no advisors or note takers, Russia says we agreed to something, WE DON'T KNOW WHAT, and you are moaning about questioning a Translator to find out, REALLY!

Let's start locking them up for obstruction of justice and see how long it takes them to roll on Dear Leader. Hopefully some of these traitors will end up in jail eventually anyway.

I'd be willing to wager Mueller's investigating at least a handful of the GOP in Congress.

Ridiculous, how often does an American president meet alone with his idol dictator? The translator should be spoken to. Putin has something over him and it's obvious. @tedcruz

Mr. Cruz, translators aren't USUALLY the only other people in the room with 2 Presidents. Mr. Thune, it accomplishes that the people who are NOT complicit will get an idea of what was said by our @POTUS...don't think that is important?

Has there been a precedent set for meetings between the US president and foreign leaders where there have not been other staff present and no official record of what was discussed? It seems this situation is unique and should be treated as such.
