Also important news re timing: Grassley says he’s NOT going to ask for every Kavanaugh doc, saying that could account for “roughly millions” of records and could take “a year” to sort through. He said he would only ask for “relevant” docs - which they are trying to sort thru now

Dems reacting strongly to this video: Schumer says that Kavanaugh must recuse himself from all matters involving Mueller; Blumenthal says it’s “dangerous” he thinks presidents are above the law. Cruz says “history has not been kind” to the ruling Kavanaugh wants to overturn

Grassley downplays the Kavanaugh video, saying: : “I don’t think it carries much weight at this point.” He noted conservatives have long been skeptical of the ruling; he would not say if Kavanaugh should recuse himself

The
@SenateDems MUST ask for Kavanaugh’s financial records, all of them and seek forensic accounting. -
Because there are discrepancies in his financial records re his credit card bills and sudden suspect big payments on them with no legitimate accounting other than he spent thousands on ball games and his friends reimbursed him for the tickets.
-
I dislike trump’s personality and policies just the the rest of you, but these kinds of allegations reek of partisan echo chambering. Let’s rely on facts not conjecture.
-
No conjecture. He had huge credit card bills and he said he was reimbursed by colleagues for baseball games. Both are facts. Asking for forensic accounting is not conjecture, it’s simply asking for verification. Finding the reimbursement suspect is an opinion shared by others.

You’re either a Russian bot or thick. I made no accusation, you’re projecting. I merely asked his financial records are investigated because a SCOTUS seat is very important. His friends may have reimbursed him. I want verification. You dont like what I tweet, SCROLL ON.
-
Definitely a bot. Reported.

Of all the obscure decisions to pick, he chose this one. ICs or SCs are not an every day feature of American life. It's clear he was speaking to an audience: the GOP and Trump. He should not be confirmed.
-
Dems need to slow walk this nomination right up to the midterms.
-
Slow walk it hell! We need to scream NEVER at the top of our lungs. The indictment of Butina is major. She is the direct money tie between Russia, the Administration and Congress. They don't get to select their own judges! Maybe in Russia but not here.
-
Two completely different issues. GOP has the power to push through Kavanagh through brute force politics. Delaying tactics are what is needed here.
-
I agree Blank. That’s why I think Dems only option is to keep filing motions and asking for more info. Time to tie this nomination up in committee for months...
-
While that must be part of effort. McConnell is never bound by Senate rules. This may lead to charges of treason. We need to look, at all possibilities. "Profiles in Courage" was full of patriots doing right, even at great personal costs. We need seek Senate allies block Trump.

@cnn No nominee by#TreasonousTrump should be considered for any reason. If@SenateGOP had any#Patriotism they would refuse to confirm anyone unless it was#MerrickGarland -
I have a suggestion: Why don’t the people who claimed Obama was a Muslim and the people who claim Trump is a traitor move to a deserted island and fight it out only to never return?
-
False equivalents. There was no evidence Obama was Muslim and if he had been it’s irrelevant. There’s plenty of evidence that Trump is a traitor and, of course, that’s highly relevant.

Say hello to Gilligan.

Will do. Give my best to Vlad.
