Corker told me and others that Trump this AM called him to raise objections about Corker’s tariff plan, saying it would hurt Trump’s ability to negotiate. During the lengthy call, he told Corker to back off his plans, but Corker said he has an obligation as a senator to do so.

Doesn't current law behoove that Trump's tariff decisions must be correlated with direct and imminent national security concerns -- not economic inducements? It seems to me that it is incumbent on Trump to prove security threats in order to impose his tariffs.

I hope Corker told him he sits in an office chair paid for by the people in the oval office. Not on a throne.
