@danielpunkass @mjtsai Have you considered the Apple System Log API? Not exactly keeping it the same, but might be suitable for your needs.

@danielpunkass I figured you could direct the log messages to a file within your sandbox and then query from that?0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@wadeco Oh, hm, that's an idea. Yeah I had a comment in my hack that says "try to get time-based filtering like ASL", so maybe!0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@danielpunkass Of course ASL isn’t really going to help for getting to crash logs which was your original problem.

@wadeco I switched to in-app crash logging with PLCrashReporter so I don't rely on Apple's logs anymore. :-\0 replies 0 retweets 1 like -
@danielpunkass Sure sure. Using ASL with a thin function wrapper like NSLog would totally work then.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@danielpunkass For messages your app creates… oh, hold on, getting word that ASL query doesn’t work under sandbox according to@willco007.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@wadeco@willco007 Yup. Even for your own messages, you can't query them from ASL. Hence this whole pursuit with double-logging :-\0 replies 0 retweets 1 like -
@danielpunkass@willco007 Well shoot, I was unaware of this limitation. Not being able to scope a query seems like a prime Radar candidate.0 replies 1 retweet 0 likes
@wadeco @danielpunkass @willco007 APIs that don’t work from the sandbox should be documented as such. :(

@mjtsai@danielpunkass@willco007 Agreed, I went back to the header to see if there was any mention of sandbox that I missed (nope).0 replies 0 retweets 1 like
