I'm STILL working on sandboxing accommodations, 4 years later than I expected. Today's task? Get the crash reporter access to console log
@danielpunkass Yes. Thought maybe you were using your own custom logging function.

@mjtsai It was the desire to keep logging more or less "the same as ever" that led me to this solution. -
@danielpunkass@mjtsai Have you considered the Apple System Log API? Not exactly keeping it the same, but might be suitable for your needs. -
-
@danielpunkass I figured you could direct the log messages to a file within your sandbox and then query from that? -
@wadeco Oh, hm, that's an idea. Yeah I had a comment in my hack that says "try to get time-based filtering like ASL", so maybe! -
@danielpunkass Of course ASL isn’t really going to help for getting to crash logs which was your original problem.

@wadeco I switched to in-app crash logging with PLCrashReporter so I don't rely on Apple's logs anymore. :-\ -
@danielpunkass Sure sure. Using ASL with a thin function wrapper like NSLog would totally work then. - Show more

@mjtsai I am using a custom cover function, but it calls through to NSLog. -
@danielpunkass Yep, I think that’s the way to go.
