      Disk Utility in El Capitan just doesn't work for partitioning. Says it's doing something but just hangs without even unmounting.

          @mjtsai I had to reboot to get DU to partition successfully, but it did end up working. Or find a Yosemite install.

          @bwebster @mjtsai ...or use the 'diskutil' command line utility. Hasn't changed, always works.

          @marczak @mjtsai I actually did try diskutil after Disk Utility screwed up, and it wouldn't work either until I rebooted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
