@danielpunkass@ejacqui Maps was customer facing and got mainstream press. This is dev stuff and tech blogs. Is that enough yet?0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@reneritchie@ejacqui I don’t know, but the lack of suitable syncing support across iCloud at least has potential to become consumer outcry.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@danielpunkass I’m not sure any CD sync app is table-stakes the way Maps was. If Mail, Calendar, etc. had the problem…0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@reneritchie@danielpunkass Mail, Calendar, etc don't use iCloud so much as "iCloud". IMAP, CalDAV, are used instead. iCloud isn't a thing.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@gte Mail does sync rules smartmailboxes and account information as mobile documents. But no coredata sync (Mail uses sqlite db)0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@mjtsai not sure it doesn't make sense. They are just plists. (Plus it was easy enough for MailTags to jump in to the game).0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@smorr Since it doesn’t know about transactions, problems occur if you made changes on multiple Macs within a short period of time.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
@mjtsai true. But as icloud doesn’t work between users there is reduced chance of collisions0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
@smorr Reduced chance, yes, but it seems to happen in practice. Maybe because the network is slow/unreliable.

@mjtsai true. And I know that Mail has a tendency to write out data at interesting times (eg at launch) so it can height chance of clobbers.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
