@mjtsai Michael, I may have misunderstood what you mean here, but doesn't that preference mean when you reopen the *application* not reboot?
I’m no longer using the “Close windows when quitting an application” preference, yet Finder still doesn’t re-open its windows when I reboot.

@mjtsai It does affect the behavior when quitting the Finder for me. (In 10.8 it relaunches *hidden* unlike in 10.6 where it stays quit.) -
@mjtsai And Safari still does not reopen the latest session: http://www.betalogue.com/2012/12/10/safari-does-not-resume/ …. And half of the time TextEdit doesn’t resume either.
