i mean, this is pretty much the republican party in a nutshell: repackaging various regressive things as their "right" to be able to be horrible people to their neighbors as long as they're white, religious and conservative

Some opinions are more equal than others. Because when it comes down to it, that's what religious beliefs are - opinions. Personal? Yes. Sincerely believed? Sure, why not, at least in the moment. But they're still just opinions.
