Set aside the broader dispute about conservatism here—this is about constitutionalism. Is Ahmari so horrified by Drag Queen Story Hour that he wants the state to suppress free expression? Apparently so! And does really he trust the state to suppress only expression he dislikes?

This is Free Speech 101. Ahmari seems to want the government to censor libraries because he fears their free speech activities will destroy American society. If you can only win your fight by suppressing free expression, perhaps it's not a fight worth winning?

He doesn’t say so explicitly but his discussion of Trump and the need to embrace political action in service of the “Highest Good” make pretty clear he wants to live in a catholic theocracy. He is openly contemptuous of liberal democratic institutions.

There is a lot of room between wanting to repeal the 1st amendment & not wanting your kids to associate w/ drag queens. Where is the freedom to associate for those parents & their kids? I think that’s the ask. Worst of all is the way leftism denies such parents those rights b/c

I like how you turned an exercise of freedom of association into a VIOLATION of the right to freedom of association.
