Sincerely wish it hadn’t come to this. Wish we had the privilege of only needing to fundraise for our own games’ development. Instead, we are taking a stand against Cultural IP theft in games because no one else can. And it’s the right thing to do.

But the messiness of HB is so precisely crafted, with the physics sim + visuals + audio working together to make this beautifully tactile and deeply dramatic experience. Watching a bit of cord twisting in space, hoping it twists in the right way - there is really nothing like it.

There is a tendency to talk about "physics games" as a broad category which flattens them out as these purposefully crude, messy experiences. Like they're just sort of slapped together and it doesn't really matter what you do in them because it's just a big funny physics mess.

Heavenly Bodies is maybe the best videogame I've played this year. Come for the wacky physics game; stay for the astonishing attention to detail + audiovisual design + the best use of ropes you've ever seen in a game.

If I could summarise the importance of SK it would be these two images. It's not to attribute the success of Goose to SK, but just simply highlight how it help facilitate a supportive space for everyone to grow together
