You're in a VM? Plumb the hypervisor's rng through to the guest.

You're on bare metal? Have your bootloader use its knowledge of the platform to pass a seed to the kernel

You can't do any of this? Congratulations, you can run some stuff in userland and now you're at risk of the kernel acting in pathological ways that remove most of your randomness and you are *definitely* in a state of sin

Just... stop trying to work around the OS being broken when it comes to random numbers. If it's important to you that your numbers are actually random then doing it in userland gives you no guarantees, if it's not just use urandom in the first place.

If the OS can't give you random numbers, you have no random numbers. Stop trying to make random numbers happen. They're not going to happen.

But how do you pipe that into /dev/random

I harvest entropy from the number of commits to github repositories containing workarounds for getrandom()

pfft I have my kernel jerry rigged to gather entropy from video footage of my 6 year old after he gets home from school. it's non-blocking btw, since it never runs out of entropy.
