      So you're saying I should encourage (say) an undocumented immigrant to go to the police if they're raped even if doing so will result in them being deported?

      Publicly outing someone as a rapist does rather a lot to diminish their ability to rape

      Conviction rates for rape are extremely low, so this is not a likely outcome of going to the police

      Given that the probability of conviction in this specific case is 0%, I'm not sure what your point is. The action taken by isis has a significantly higher probability of preventing Nadim from assaulting other people in future.

          I'm saying that everybody makes their own decisions between pragmatism and principles. In this case it's 0% because it's an event that occurred between someone living in the US and someone living in France, in Brazil, in a way that was not clearly against Brazilian law.
