I've had several conversations with employees of YouTube recently, and the subject of bettering the platform comes up in each and every one of them. My one suggestion to them is to remove the dislike button.

Ideally clicking dislike should show a text window and it will have "Why don't you like this video." and perhaps give some report to said youtuber to help better their channel. I dunno,, 2 cents here.

The dislike button helps me spot fake videos with the word "Official" in the title. How about thumbs that actually come from the video and not some unrelated image used just to get clicks.

It does serve a purpose, but mostly for their algorithms. Knowing what people think of videos allows them to tailor things to the users for maximum engagement. Likes and dislikes aren't really there for the community's benefit. Comments are much more useful in that regard.
