Opinion: it's ok to compile development-only JS bundles with closure compiler because it is a code authoring tool (it changes the code), not just a minifier. If you want the result to be human-readable, run it through Prettier afterwards or use a sourcemap. Change my mind.

At this point I'm going to assume that 1.7 billion unique IP addresses is just about our max. We've been hovering around that number for several months now. Of course, none of this would be possible w/out generous sponsorships from and ! Thank you!

Last month, served an average of over 1B requests per day. We served almost 350TB of traffic to over 1.7B unique IP addresses 👀

I just started a small doc with common questions about React Router v6. I'll be adding to it throughout the week. If you have questions, please, let's talk!

If you have experience in React but still have some pain points, what are they? I'm researching something

There are literally thousands more lines in scripts, docs, config, and tests. That's where a large portion of the work is. But the core is pretty tiny.

One thing I always loved about Sinatra (ruby web framework) is I could read the whole thing in one file. Looks like it has grown quite a bit since I last looked at it. But most of it is still in base.rb

It'll be interesting to see how large it gets after we convert the whole thing to TypeScript. I bet it adds at least 20%.

The core of react-router v6 is 357 lines of code, excluding comments and __DEV__ blocks (which are mostly propTypes). Should be able to read it in an afternoon, if you're curious 👀

It would really, really help if you have some previous experience writing technical docs and are familiar with some of the tools. Honestly, it's kind of a weak area for me personally, so I'm not really able to teach you. But if you have experience doing this I'd love to learn.

    - Guides. There a lots of different guides we can write. Authentication, server rendering, animations and transitions, how to do prompts and dialogs, etc. The router can handle many different situations and flows. I'd like to have a guide for all the common ones.

    - Tutorial. I'd like to have a tutorial for React Router v6 on par with the reach/router tutorial or the React tutorial. Basically I'd like to build a small app together that helps people understand how to use the various features of the router. Will probably use create-react-app

A few areas I'd like to focus on: - API docs. These will basically just be a list of all the components, hooks, utility functions, and their type signatures and return values. I think this might actually be easier if we just converted the whole codebase to TypeScript.

One thing that is already fairly robust is the test suite, so don't worry, you don't have to write any of those. It's the most tests I've ever written for an alpha 😅 I have to say, I had fun writing the tests. Jest is an amazing tool once you can get the configuration right.

If you're so inclined, I would love some help writing the docs on React Router v6. We need API docs, guides, and tutorials. Would be a great chance for you to become familiar with some of the new APIs and contribute to a major OSS project. DMs are open. Let's chat!

I tried as hard as I knew how to make it as small as possible. React Router v6 only adds about 4k to a vanilla create-react-app (depending on which pieces you use, ofc). This is BrowserRouter (history v5), Routes, Route, Redirect, Link, and useParams 👍
