New 7T-MRI atlas for the locus coeruleus in mid and later life - great work from and the 7T team Ideal to study AD, PD, PSP, Apathy and other disorders associated with pathology of the locus coeruleus

Locus coeruleus connectivity at 3T based on individual localization using a neuromelanin sensitive sequence as compared to MNI space masks. Results largely converge, though the TPJ may be driven by other nuclei. Good news for atlas-based analyses!

Sub-millimeter variation in human locus coeruleus is associated with dimensional measures of psychopathology Patients with an anxiety or stress-related disorder had larger LC compared to controls + poorer attentional and inhibitory control

This paper includes absolutely no sugarcoating. Just bc our psychological "theory" feels congruent with our experiences doesn't mean it's actually true. Great read, strong conclusion. And, this concludes my impromptu live-tweeting of me reading this paper. 10/10 do recommend.

Amazing article about the failure of the amyloid hypothesis of Alzheimer’s Disease, and the groupthink that apparently shut down new ideas. What do my Alzheimer’s-research pals think of this?
