I love YouTube and when the notification system was first introduced I was told it was a chance for subs to see "every video you upload" I supported or then. But why break this system too? Why let it be only a "if we think the video is good enough" system as well?

But what happens if the sub box is broken, i'm subscribed to loads of different people right now and they don't all appear in my sub box at all, a notification is a lot easier so i can see that they are releasing content

Fix the sub box. Dont make up another process to subvert the responsibility of fixing whats broken. Thats like instead of patching the hole in your fishing boat, you just fish from the pier and avoid fixing the problem with your boat

I do the same. I never have any issues with it luckily. I get notifications for a few channels I really love. There are a lot of channels I follow that I just don't want to watch or be bothered for all their videos.

Exactly. Notifications should be an additional customization of the user experience, not an essential workaround for a faulty system. Some channels I watch every video, some I watch 1 in 10. The sub box should show all of them. Crazy its so broken.
