The invitation was sent via email to ANCs in Wards 4 and 1, and potentially more. The emails say the legislation "will give violent criminals (including rapists and murderers) an opportunity to reduce their sentences after only serving 15 years in prison...
...and will expand eligibility to adults who committed their crimes before they turned 25 years old." The email says "583 violent criminals will be immediately eligible to apply for release" and predicts that one in three will "reoffend within three years," citing BOP data

So courageous of the @USAO_DC to send out this invite when they refused to testify at the public hearing where their fear-mongering and misinformation would not have been tolerated.
Also, this flyer from the U.S. Attorney’s office incorrectly lists 6 of DC’s 8 Wards (only Wards 4 and 5 are shown correctly)!
