I respectfully disagree, especially as HR continues to branch out into programs (OD) which is 100% for employees. And I work for one of the largest employers in my province. But in

Yes there are awesome aspects of HR- that is the retention shiny object part - they volunteer - they do al kinds of motivational employee stuff. They are there to protect the company. I said be careful when you have a grievance for a reason.

In my experience, they forget they are dealing with humans. HELLO??? Remember what the ‘H’ stands for?

Don't forget HR are most often also employees themselves. While they advise the business, the business can still do what they want regardless if it's against employment legislation. It's the businesses view of risk which is always a difficult aspect that HR have to try & handle

Just to add...also occasionally employees just can't be helped sometimes and come to work with a chip on their shoulder and will never be pleased. Also fun to try and handle!

Yes...rehabilitation in the form of training and development. We dealt with problem employees all of the time.

Again, this depends on the company, not HR - I've seen plenty of toxic employees kept on even though they caused many good employees to simply move to other companies to get away from them. If the company/their direct superiors said they were to important to lose nothing was done

An attorney in my case I had the capacity to get in touch with NASA magistrate office. My company did what it could and anything it could to prevent our one and only customer from finding out our bad things. And if nothing resolved-stuck working in worse environment
