/ The era of a world united (and dominated) by media narratives is over, and today's social media is its last dying breath. Twitter will lose 2/3 of its market within the next 3-5 years. Facebook is over. They were all experiments that failed to deliver on their promises.

/ Those who jump on the centralized culture bandwagon will find themselves stranded and clueless within a decade (at best). The rate of change and obsoletion is growing exponentially. Iterations of culture will become increasingly localized and ever more short-lived.

/ The job and housing markets will go through severe fluctuations that will threaten world economy and world peace. Google will become the centralized Internet and AI data-driven behemoth and blockchains the resistance in the emerging culture—and data—wars.

/ Where money was the answer to everything, technology will become the future answer to everything. Except the most important question. Identity.

/ Human culture is but an outward extension of human DNA. Technology can either move it into a new paradigm, help it to flourish and express itself, or follow an old paradigm, promote a centralized monoculture that invariably collapses under its own internal contradictions.

/ The lure of centralization is the lure of power and influence; that of decentralization, of independence and autonomy. Once the power of decentralization exceeds the economic power of centralized institutions, the game is up for them—they no longer make the rules.

/ Blockchains will help individuals to assume a new role in the global economy of ideas—that of culture creators. The increased ease of use of this technology will allow each individual to create their own version of culture; one that both shapes, and reflects, their DNA.

/ Whereas before identity had to either conform, adapt, or be at odds with the surrounding culture, personal identity will assume a central importance in a decentralized reality and culture. That is, of course, if that reality comes to pass.

/ Where you orient your identity towards will determine your side of the story in the coming culture clash (and crash). Insist on old (consumer) paradigms and you will be left behind—they will all crash one by one and leave you hanging. You, and they, will become obsolete.

/ The new (creator) paradigm of multiple, constantly evolving and shifting patterns of culture necessitates that you bank on your identity first and foremost. The means are not here yet; but when they are, you will be well-equipped to take advantage of them and make a stand.

/ The decentralized culture is the culture of identity but—crucially—it does not provide it for you. To do so would be another centralization and therefore against its purpose & design. Its power lies in that it only equips you with the means to express it & create around it.

/ Undoubtedly, you will always find a seller if you are looking to buy an identity. But in a creator economy and in a decentralized culture, the work—the most important work—is yours to do. With yourself, and by yourself. Start now. Don't wait.
