Are you talking about clinical depression or a prolonged hardship? The words darkness of the soul are shrouded in mystery - could you be a little more specific?

I'll expand more on a thread I think. It's a difficult topic. Suffice it to say that our systematic categorization and quantification in psychological terms that leads us to the assumption that given enough understanding and the correct means everyone can be 'fixed' is wrong.
-
PS I am not referring to alleviating suffering, healing trauma, etc.

My big question remains whether some are born w/o a shot or if experience makes them unsalvageable. Instinct tells me the former but that's tough to swallow. Some are born in the light and struggle against the darkness, others are born in the darkness and only glimpse the light.

We assume that by defining something we can understand it, but as far as the human psyche is concerned the mystery remains.

A simple

I am 90% through The Body Keeps the Score. Good book. Intense subject.
What is the individual or society to do in such cases? Not easy. -
I need to read that.

Highly recommended. Society would likely be just a little better off if this was widely read and absorbed.

Trauma and darkness can be remedied. They can be healed. It takes courage and empathy, and it’s not pleasant or easy. I’m writing a book about it now. It’ll be available later this year.
