2/ The problem is that whatever you are, it is completely unpredictable. So how can any culture optimize for it in order to harness it? No one can show you, tell you, help you on how to be you. You either find out for yourself or imitate others, or an ideal, or a standard.

3/ That's the contradiction I see, so in my view any such attempt is naive and misguided. Because ultimately, it is not culture that can or is responsible for creating individuals but individuals who can and are responsible for creating culture.

However an individual (as opposed to large-scale culture) attempting to put something into their culture that creates a better individual for the next generation is not necessarily naive or misguided
