In those moments I found no pity or sadness, only respect and admiration for what human beings are truly capable of. Their loss gave me sadness, but it reminded me that the only true loss is regret.

Somehow all of them transformed their regret into contentment, and sought to transmit that to those they knew and loved in their final moments. For that I am deeply grateful to them.

They understood that life is fleeting, and that life is nothing but the story of each moment, and those moments tied together. They were more simple than I was, simply this "Enjoy your life..." Three words was enough.
