One of my biggest lessons from the year has been to aggressively UNDERschedule myself. The most productive weeks I've have been the ones where I only committed to 10-15 hours of "work" and then did whatever seemed most interesting with the remaining time.

Correct. Material stress narrows your thinking. In extreme conditions it affects your IQ too (it lowers a bit)- you can only see your hands, there are no horizons. Been there too. Problem is that people who can, do not see the value of divergent thinking. They just get bored.
