how do you track this 1% improvement? Just gut feel or do you have a more quantitative approach?

Just thinking the 1% daily improvement could prove to be extremely non-linear as well if the task gets easier over time and with experience.

I've noticed keeping track of what specific 1% improvement I want to do has helped me tremendously.

What are some examples? It seems difficult to measure the most important things. And the things that can be measured -- like time spent reading or something -- cannot be increased 1% per day for long.

I don't always try top improve a single habit, but my habits in general. For example, today I added another minute to my meditation time. 1% improvement can be misleading too. Sometimes it's beneficial to take something away.

I just think of small improvements I can make to my day. I recently added studying foreign language at the end of the day as opposed to some random time during the day. That seems to be working better for me, because I've consistently stuck to it.

only caveat is people think that taking it slow means to work periodically, & not daily.
