Mathematics is the language of nature. Perhaps we can teach and learn it more easily as such.

How did you learn math through music? Examples?
-
1/ A simple example is the natural occurrence of melodic intervals from the overtone series which are essentially fractions of a base pitch.
-
2/Less simple example is polyrhythms found in Carnatic music which are highly complex and sophisticated divisions of subdivisions of a beat.
-
3/ A more complex example is programming synthesizers, compressors, limiters, filters and so on which can get quite mathematical.
-
4/ Most complex example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_(software) …

is there a book or person or video you recommend to learn about mathematics in music. this is so fascinating
-
Difficult to find a book not specifically addressed to musicians. A quick Youtube search for "Music + Mathematics" brings up good results.

However, one cannot learn everything about mathematics from music alone.
-
It goes without saying.
