I see it more as what the thought and corresponding action REALLY serves.

In all actions, if the motivation is to serve yourself (eg be a millionaire, "become" anything) then the basis is egoic thinking.

If the thought is to do something (rather than be someone), to serve the work, to serve a purpose unrelated to one's self, I'd say it's not.

The difficult part is in separating ones default propensity to relate action to the self.
