Certainly. Although it depends on what you are willing to admit as violence. For this one let's say injuring or killing another human being.

1/ Japanese Zen monasteries are famous for the brutal stick beatings administered by the head monks to their pupils. Some have died from it.

2/ The Japanese Samurai and the Bushido code were heavily influenced by Zen Buddhism. Most considered themselves Buddhists & were merciless.
