/ It appears that you are too identified with the mind and only experience your life through it. Maybe that is the cause of the difficulty.

/ In order to let a thought pass and simply observe it, you must establish yourself as the observer of your thoughts, not the content.

/ You may say "But my house is on fire!" OK. That is true. But still, it is also true that you remain the observer, not the happening.

/ The problem is that when you are identified with the content you allow it to dictate your actions. This creates an imprisonment loop.

/ Find other ways to get in touch of your being. Leave the thoughts for awhile. Go for a walk. Observe nature. Forget yourself.

/ You need to create a space, a distance, between you and the thoughts. Don't obsess over them. Whenever they come, create space.

/ That space is what you need to reestablish yourself as the master of your mind. That space is awareness. Create awareness.
