2/This can act as a useful trigger (eg specific workout music associated with adrenaline & energy) or not. Depends on use and YMMV.

3/In order to "zone-in" (eg if writing code, or any deep work) it works in yr favor by eliminating space/time awareness (esp. if repetitive)

I got custom fit in-ear monitors with the idea that less sensory input = more focus. Are you suggesting it creates dependency?

It creates a habit, not dependancy. Use them if they aid with focus in specific tasks, otherwise see if you can do without.
