Authenticity is not either thinking of yourself, or not think of yourself. It is your natural state of being when "you" don't interfere.

When you are in that state, there is no need to try to encapsulate it in some "method". Hold on to it & you lose it. Let go & you have it.

Authenticity is in equal parts knowing and not-knowing. Most don't get that. They think authenticity is confirming to an imaginary self.

I disagree. I think this 3 stage learning model is more Asian. See shu ha ri from aikido which is very similar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuhari

I practice Tai Chi Chuan so my understanding of it comes more from its own Taoist roots, where it is as central as the "Tao" itself.
