There are a few ways to solve the conflict: e.g. authenticity is not really abt identity so no need to know urself to act authentically. /5

Authenticity is not either thinking of yourself, or not think of yourself. It is your natural state of being when "you" don't interfere.
-
When you are in that state, there is no need to try to encapsulate it in some "method". Hold on to it & you lose it. Let go & you have it.
-
Authenticity is in equal parts knowing and not-knowing. Most don't get that. They think authenticity is confirming to an imaginary self.
-
So they think and try to create an image of their authentic selves and project it onto reality and so forth. They are genuine fakes.
-
Beyond the obvious paradox of being authentic while subservient to a self-image, this also cripples you from the full ability of your mind.
-
Your mind contains so much information that makes it up that you cannot ever access conciously and therefore take into account.
-
So whatever authentic self you create and attempt to follow, you miss 99% of what really constitutes your mind, & you go against it.
-
You have a mind, and a body, and those are what they are by nature and nurture. To impose on them is a losing battle.
-
What I'm suggesting is that in becoming aware of yourself and your mind you become more centered both in body and mind.
-
And therefore you become able to respond to existence in a different way. An authentic way, a spontaneous way. Without calculating.
