@mistermircea how do you stop thinking of yourself when you've been doing it habitually your whole life?
What do you think about everyday?
You are experiencing life and relating everything unnecessarily to a separate feeling of "I" which exists only in the mind.

-
No need to meditate as much as be aware of this phenomenon and remain one with the present movement and not with an imaginary center.
-
Do this for a few minutes and gradually do it more. You'll experience existence beyond the mind and then you won't be so attached to it.
-
Think of anything that relates to the idea of "I" as a ball and chain and observe how it pops up constantly. And simply let it go.
-
Still don't understand what things relate to 'I'! Things like emotions, loneliness, etc?
-
The mind creates a self whenever it relates any experience to 'I' 'me' or 'mine'. There is no permanent 'I' only a process of identification
-
Now you are lonely, tomorrow not. The mind posts an experiencer separate from the experience but if you observe it you won't find him.
-
So whenever I feel lonely or insecure, just think of the ball and chain metaphor?
-
You must be pretty young? No, I wouldn't suggest that in this case. Human connection is what you need.
